      Sonja Stojanović Gajić

      Sonja Stojanovic Gajic is currently the Director of the BCSP. She is author of methodology for measuring SSR in a transitional society from a perspective of civil society and chief methodologist for regional collaborative research on the progress of SSR in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia. She is one of the lead researchers in the research on practices of security community-building “The Western Balkans from Conflict Zone to Security Community.”

      Ms. Stojanovic Gajic works part-time as a Teaching Assistant at the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Belgrade. She holds an MA in Politics, Security and Integration with distinction from the School of Slavonic and Eastern European Studies, University College London.

      Prior to taking up her current appointment, she worked with the Strategic Development Unit of the Law Enforcement Department of the OSCE Mission to Serbia and Montenegro as a coordinator of the strategic management programme for the Serbian and Montenegrin police services.

      She has taken comprehensive assessments of police reform, regional police cooperation, and preparation of police service for membership in the EU. She has extensive experience of working as a consultant and trainer for different international organisations (UNDP, OSCE, DCAF), political groups and civil society organisations in the Western Balkans on security sector reform, civic participation, gender mainstreaming, and think-tank management.

      She is a member of Women in International Security (WIIS), Forum for International Relations and alumni of Chevening, U.S. State Department's National Security Institute and Belgrade Open School.
