Founded in 1998, the Partnership for Peace Consortium of Defense Academies and Security Studies Institutes (PfPC) is a cooperative network linking over 800 defense academies and security studies institutes in 59 countries. Through research and activities funded by member countries and institutions, the PfPC seeks to strengthen defense and security policy education and to promote peaceful international relations. Services include training and curriculum enhancement, information sharing, and coordination of skills and assets. Bringing together decision makers from military and political centres of government along with leaders of academia and industry, PfPC melds the results of these interactions into defense-focused multinational curricula using state-of-the-art educational technologies
PfPC conferences at the Marshall Center in Garmisch- Partenkirchen, Germany and throughout Europe and Central Asia provide a unique forum for vigorous debate and the open exchange of ideas, including controversial points of view. Within a defense academic context, PfPC facilitates discernment of nonviolent solutions to international differences. Member countries and institutions exchange views on important political, economic, and social issues affecting their political stability, physical and infrastructure security, cultural identity, and overall national security within the context of human rights.
BCSP has been a conributing member of the PfP Consortium since 2008.
