Military is state organization authorised to use all available means, including armed force, in defence of its country from foreign enemies, as well as potential threats to constitutional order. Since its foundation, BCSP has analysed achievements in armed forces reform, understood as one of key elements of security sector reform. BCSP represents first organization of civil society in Serbia that has continously advocated democratic civilian control over armed forces.
