BCSP provides three types of services to citizens and decision makers:
BCSP's work is founded on applied research that is:
grounded in theory;
open to stakeholders.
In collection and analysis of data, BCSP uses several methods, starting with the analysis of secondary sources, discourse analysis, comparative approach and quantitative analysis all the way to primary empirical and ethographical research which includes interviews, focus groups, as well as numerous other methods.

Through implementation of inovative educational techniques, we try to fundamentally change the understanding of present or future key state and security problems faced by decision makers.
For this reason we organise seminars, lead an internship programme, and take an active role in developing educational plans and programmes of the University of Belgrade Faculty of Political Science.
Target group of our educational programmes and seminars is comprised of politicians, members of parliament, students, police officers, military officers, as well as many others who will soon be included in decision making at all levels of government.
BCSP seeks to increase visibility of important social issues among decision makers and the public at large.
For this reason it submits amendments to legislation and attempts to influence decision makers by creating opportunities for networking, with the goal of creating a security community in the region.
We ask our citizens for attention through active participation in the media, and also by creating online and real life platforms for their direct engagement.
This is why we believe it is important to establish strategic partnerships and networks.
