In November, Centre for Civil-Military Relations began the realisation of the project "School for European Security", by publishing its Call for aplications in the "Danas" daily newspapers. Selection narrowed the list to 32 names of political activists and government employees who will constitute the first generation of the "School".

Goal of the project is to make Serbia closer to European Union, through enhancing visibility, knowledge and understanding of the security dimension of the process of European integration. This goal will be fulfilled through  advanced education of young political leaders and professionals, that is, by offering basic education to a wider public and by enabling Internet distance-learning programme.

"School" has officially been opened on December 3, when Stole Ulriksen, Head of the Norwegian Institute for International Affairs (NUPI) Security Programme presented on the "Global Security Role of the European Union".

School for European Security is a constitutive part of the Communicating European Security Policies project, supported by the EU through European Integration Fund, managed by the Delegation of the European Commision in Serbia, and implemented by Press Now.
