          • Building Capacities of Civil Society Organisations for Greater Participation in Security Sector Reform

            • People: Gorana Odanovic, Marko Savkovic, Miroslav Hadzic, Sasa Djordjevic
            • Issues: Civil Society, Regional Security, Regional Security Cooperation

With this project, BCSP hopes to build up the capacities of local CSOs to participate in security sector oversight and development of security policies. Another goal of this project is to enhance the mechanisms of cooperation between civil society and the security sector, as well as to strengthen and widen the existing network of national and local CSOs whose field of expertise lies within the scope of security studies.

        • Through interactive workshops, representatives of NGOs had an opportunity to analyze their own work and the security situation in their communities.

The workshops aimed to establish a "diagnosis of local security," or identify the true source of security problems and propose solutions for them.

The trainers and lecturers, coming from the academic community and civil society, participated in the realization of training.

Aside from them, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Defense, and Serbian Armed Forces representatives shared with participants of the training their own experiences in cooperation with civil society and pointed out the successful models of this type of cooperation.

The project was supported by the OSCE Mission to Serbia.
